A Little About Me:
I grew up in the suburbs of NYC and I worked as a Fashion Merchandiser for a major department store for 5 years, and then in Operations at Sephora for 4 years until I became a stay-at-home Mom when my son Henry was born in June of 2013. I married my husband Eric in June of 2011. He's a software security architect and is also a talented composer (though he doesn't have much time for it these days).
I live in Connecticut in a small town that I absolutely love and is perfect for raising a family. But it's also great to still be close enough to NYC to go to the occasional Broadway show, visit the museums, or my favorite, go shopping!
I originally started my blog in 2009 under the name The Budget Beauty Blog, because I love finding those hidden gems at the drugstore. As my blog audience grew, I found that most of my readers love the thrill of both a splurge and a bargain, so while I still blog about drugstore products, I also make sure to cover the hottest, most talked-about makeup, skincare and hair products at all price-points. In addition to reviews, I offer readers a first look at new products as soon as they hit the store shelves. I visit my local drugstores, specialty and department stores several times a week and post photos of new products to my social media accounts right from the store, as well as later on the blog itself. I also regularly post about sales and deals relating to beauty products as well as comparison posts between similar drugstore and high-end products.
